Who We Are
As a family-owned and operated small business we take pride in building the local economy, one space at a time. We build spaces for some of Central Ohio’s premier small and mid-sized businesses and partner with the area’s leading developers to bring exciting new concepts to life.
What sets us apart is our top-of-the-line service, flexibility, ingenuity, and willingness to work harder than the rest. We strive to not only build strong spaces, but also strong relationships, by ensuring a positive project experience for each client.
Our History
Gary Beckmann founded Spectrum Builders in 1977 after realizing the tremendous growth taking place in the Columbus economy. At the time he was working as a carpenter on construction sites across Ohio, giving him an insider’s perspective on the demand for commercial space. He decided to seize the opportunity and open his own carpentry firm dedicated to offering quality craftsmanship in a trustworthy and reliable manner. Throughout the 1980s the company expanded to offer commercial general contracting, construction management, and custom development services to clients across Columbus.
Our Team
Gary Beckmann
Owner, Managing Director
Gary brings over 40 years of commercial construction experience, spanning all facets of the industry; he has lead Spectrum Builders since 1977 and grown it into one of the most respected firms in Columbus. Outside of Spectrum, he is an active leader in several community organizations including the Boy Scouts of America and Relay for Life.
Ross Beckmann
Project Manager, Operations
Ross brings 15+ years of experience as a construction project manager and field superintendent. He joined Spectrum Builders in 2013 after a successful corporate career managing distribution, logistics and operations for several industrial manufacturers. He holds a BA in Operations Management from the Fischer School of Business at Ohio State.
Chase Beckmann
Project Manager, Marketing
Chase brings 10+ years of experience interfacing with clients and managing complex projects. He joined Spectrum Builders in 2021 after a successful career in commercial real estate investment sales, supply chain management, and wealth management. He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner School of Business.
